Exciting times here at Yakkertech as we began to roll out our updated tagging interface last week to some of our schools! This blog will highlight some of the changes that have been made, as well as, some additional updates on the horizon.

User Interface Update

The biggest change you will notice is that we have completely revamped the look and feel of the tagging application. Our goal was to provide a cleaner experience for our users with an updated color scheme and workflow to make tagging more efficient during games, batting practice, and bullpens. This includes a new Dark Mode and Light Mode option located in the top right of the screen.

Customization

Don't like the default metrics? Click on the tiles to choose a different metric to display or use the navigation in the top right to customize the metrics that you want to see.

Coming soon: ability to add/delete tiles to fully customize what you want to see.

Pitch History

Scroll through an entire game pitch-by-pitch in the Pitch History section to see player trends and sequencing throughout the game.

Coming soon: added metrics, filters, and ability to edit tags from this screen.

Coach Mode

Use Coach Mode as a view only version of the interface that can be used for development on the field or mirrored onto the scoreboard to be used as an umpire for your scrimmages and immediate feedback for the players.

Coming soon: more custom view and additional visuals

Shortcuts

There are a couple of hidden features that we are improving right now but can be accessed by:

  • Clicking on home plate on the strike zone visual to toggle between Pitcher and Catcher view
  • Press CTRL 2 (Command 2 on Mac) to bring up the Strike Zone "Buffer Zone" on the visual to use for borderline pitches.

There are a bunch of updates on the horizon for the Yakkertech interface that we will keep everyone updated with and would love to hear feedback from our coaches on ideas to continuously improve our user experience.
